The Paintball Skirmish Game

MINIMUM AGE IS NOW 10 YEARS OLD

In fifteen years the sport of paintball has become recognised as one of the world's most exciting outdoor sports. Paintball is played in over two dozen countries by millions of men and women of all ages and lifestyles, but whatever their walk of life, all paintball players share in common a love for adventure and a competitive spirit.

Paintball is a challenging, action-packed game full of thrills and spills. Although there are many different game scenarios and field formats, typically a group of players will divide into two teams to play 'capture the flag'. The number of players on each team can vary from four or five to as many as fifteen to twenty on a side, depending on the size of the playing field.

The object of most games is to go out and capture the other team’s flag whilst protecting your own. Some players may be in defence and some in attack. While you are trying to capture their flag, you are also trying to eliminate opposing players by tagging them with a paintball expelled from a carbon-dioxide powered paintball marker.

Games usually have a time limit of 15 - 25 minutes but may range from ten minutes to hours, depending on the size of the field and the number of players. Between games, players take a break to check their equipment, reload paintballs and refresh themselves with food and drink while they recount the thrills of victory and the [usually funny!] agonies of defeat. Win or lose, everyone has a good time, and there’s always the next game awaiting you.

Paintball is a sport played by people from all professions and lifestyles. It is a sport where men and women compete on equal footing, and where younger people will not necessarily dominate older. Physical size and strength are not as important as intelligence and determination. Strategy is important, being able to think quickly and decisively is what makes you a star. Paintball is a character-building sport, players learn the importance of team-work and gain self-confidence while developing leadership abilities. Paintball is an exciting sport, it raises fitness levels and above all it’s fun! It’s a chance to relax from your daily responsibilities and rekindle your spirit of adventure. Once the adrenalin starts pumping you can’t help but fall for the thrill of the game!!
